Alpine guide, psychologist and minimalist traveler
Since childhood, Dirk has been in contact with the mountains. His father accompanied him on long hikes, the passion for the peaks was born very early. Initially he dedicated himself to mountaineering in his native Alps, then he was increasingly attracted to mountaineering in the mountains of the world. Regardless of whether it is a simple hike to a refuge, or an alpine ascent of a north face or ice climbing, the main thing is to stay in the mountains.
Dirk has a PhD in psychology. As the director of labor of a management consulting firm, he is dedicated to executive development. He combines the themes of mountaineering and management and uses stories and metaphors gained from his experience in the mountains.
Dirk is on the Board of Directors of VDBS (the association of German Alpine Guides and Skiers) as an extraordinary member. He works as a teacher and consultant of the VDBS. In addition to mountaineering, he is passionate about behavioral research and minimalist travels through little-visited regions.
“Being in the mountains or in nature is the life situation in which I feel that I and others are essential. Guiding people to find this space of experience for themselves is a very important task for me. It makes me happy to see that people can acquire new experiences that alone they would not have been able to achieve ”.
