TRADITION

CONERO 30 GTX is a made in Italy with experience, passion, expertise and top quality raw materials, selected according to high standards. Founded 40 years ago by Galliano Bordin, a shoemaker from Montebelluna in the province of Treviso, AKU still assembles most of its models using artisanal techniques, respecting an ancient manufacturing tradition, the basis of the qualitative value of a product destined to last over time.

ORIGINALITY

Equipped with the historic Vibram Fourà tread, also made in 1992, the CONERO 30 GTX celebrates the indissoluble partnership between Vibram and AKU, particularly in the exclusive and unrepeatable yellow version that echoes the exact shade of the famous brand. This collaboration confirms AKU’s constant search for technical partners and cutting-edge stylistic solutions to guarantee its products comfort, lightness, maximum performance, and an original and unmistakable design.

ENVIRONMENT

For CONERO 30 GTX, as for all its models, AKU uses a certified calculation system to quantify CO2 emissions throughout the life cycle of the footwear, with the aim of reducing its impact on the environment. AKU has always been committed to seeking the best design solutions, aimed at limiting environmental impact and promoting the responsible use and reuse of resources, with a view to the circular economy.

TWO STEPS INTO THE HISTORY
OF CONERO GTX

Early 1990s: Galliano Bordin is the founder of a company that is building its reputation as a manufacturer of high-quality mountain footwear with a special flair for innovation. Pier Callegarini is a young designer from Treviso at the beginning of his career. The two got to know each other and their collaboration resulted in the first version of the Conero GTX. Adding even more value to this union is a third partner: Vibram. AKU immediately assigned it a central role for the reliability of its products and the brand responded with Fourà, the special sole created for the Conero GTX model. The story of Conero is an example of how the success of a product is also measured by the emotion that it still arouses in the public years later. A mountaineering shoe built to last and to guarantee an excellent level of comfort in prolonged use and a sober style that finds its essential value in the simplicity of its lines, the essential value.

The Vibram yellow version stems from AKU’s intention to celebrate a truly iconic shoe model that has marked the history of outdoor footwear. Conero had been conceived and developed with Vibram from the very beginning, so 30 years later it was only natural to want to celebrate this great anniversary by re-proposing the model in what is probably the most symbolic colour in outdoor footwear: Vibram yellow.

The meeting with Galliano was enlightening, it allowed me to contaminate his experience with my own ideas. From this union, Conero was born. Its design is primarily functional, but with a unique style.
