Walking the Apuan Alps
Maurizio is a professional photographer since 1989, he has been a registered journalist since 1993 and has made numerous trips abroad and related reportages. In 2017, he published the photographic volume APUANE, 110 black and white photographs of the Apuan Alps, for the publishing house Eclettica.
He has been frequenting the mountains since 1980, is a CAI member of the Massa section, and he has been a mountaineering instructor and member of the C.N.S.A.S. National Mountain Rescue Corps. Maurizio knows the Apuan Alps very well, he has walked all the paths and climbed all the peaks several times, even repeating numerous mountaineering routes: from the north of Pizzo D’Uccello to the Alto di Sella ridge, both in summer and in winter, including the winter crossing from north to south of the Apuan Alps.
He has made numerous ascents in the Alps, particularly the Western Alps (Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, Dente del Gigante, Mont Blanc du Tacul, Castor, Pollux) and several ascents in the Dolomites. Several treks in Nepal, Tibet and Morocco, in Atlas Mountains.
He is a hiking guide and organises photographic (and non-photographic) treks in the Apuan Alps and the Apennines, under the brand name ‘Obiettivo Trekking’.
