Searching for a new worldview
Are there still unexplored lands in the third millennium?! Are there still places on Earth where human beings have not yet set their footprint?
This seems to be one of the questions that the La Venta team attempts to answer with its geographical and speleological exploration projects.
Among the association’s partners are numerous universities in Italy, Europe and other continents. International organisations include UNESCO, but the association’s network is very branched and global. The projects that La Venta carries out in the remotest corners of the Earth make use of the collaboration of experts of all nationalities, with high-level profiles in various scientific fields.
Going back to the original question, we may be disappointed: untouched places are scarce, almost non-existent. But exploration is only one element, the others are documentation and dissemination.
The La Venta team carries out editorial projects and they participate in events in order to publicise their discoveries and their own unique style of exploration. Indeed, expeditions take on broader connotations that include not only knowledge of places but also of the culture of the people who live there. The real discovery is therefore in returning home with ‘new eyes‘ that allow us to see what we were previously hiding from ourselves.
AKU collaborates with La Venta because its spirit of adventure and continuous, respectful exploration of the Earth embodies the philosophy of our brand. We provide them with footwear to explore all kinds of environments, from Icelandic ice and volcanoes to Mexican caves.
