For AKU the mountains are life itself, more than just a place to accomplish mountaineering feats.

It is a place where people come face to face with a tough and sometimes unforgiving environment. The mountains embody all the values and reasons for what we do.

It is our practice to work extensively in the field, to check the quality of our products firsthand, leaving no room for doubt, to ensure all our footwear is reliable.

When we are developing a new collection, we imagine the people who spend their lives in the mountains, more than mountaineers, because we know that if we come up with good footwear for them, it means we have come up with good footwear for mountaineers, too.
