Corrado Gontier
Corrado Gontier, 42 years old, is an Italian Alpine Guide from Valle d’Aoste. He lives and works between Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso’s area, but he has a long experience as climber and explorer even in Africa, Nepal (Manaslu, Mera Peak, Annapurna) and South America (Aconcagua). During the winter he works as freeride guide with Esprit Montagne, a strong group of Alpine Guides specialized in Eliski, based in Valtournanche - Gran Paradiso National Park. |
My first experience with AKU has been two years ago in winter, looking for ice falls with my friend Ezio Marlier that introduced me Spider Kevlar GTX. At the beginning I was a little bit confused with this unusual mountaineering boot. I felt the ankles too much free in comparison with my habit, but step by step I appreciated and undeerstood more and more this feeling. It gave me the possibility to move free and safe, making new movements, opening a wide range of performances. This new feeling was comfort and had a name: AKU.
